Introduction:

The Montessori Teens Board is designed to assist a child who may need a little more work in recognising and understanding numbers 11 through 19 (I added 20 just for continuity's sake). 

Template comes with ten 10s and 10 movable numbers (1-9 and 2) with velcro dots stuck on at the back. By physically placing the numbers 1-9, your child will gradually come to understand the number pattern from 11 through 19.

Introduction:

There's no doubt that writing is very much linked to how a child learns. Through writing, a child can retain information much better, especially a difficult language like Chinese.

This introductory set was specially catered for young preschoolers to learn more about Chinese and these themes and words are selected because they can relate to them more easily.

Most handwriting templates in the market are printed on paper and once the child writes on them, it can no longer be re-used, unless you erase them - word for word. The font size is also larger so it makes it easier for budding writers. Cute pictures are also a bonus!

This is why I designed this laminated set so that the child can practice writing on them over and over again and it can be easily wipe-and-reused.

note: my girl was 2.5 years old at the time of recording and she was just starting to read. I wrote the beginning letters in a different colour and that helped her 'recognise' and 'guess' the word according to the beginning sound. The next step would be to leave the lettering in a uniform colour. 

Introduction:

This product was designed with the aim to teach my child to understand both numerals and the Chinese characters that represented numbers. It allowed plenty flexibility as I could mix-and-match the cards in anyway I wanted to. 

For eg, I would pick the card with 2 red apples and asked her to count the number of apples on it. Subsequently, I invited her to find the numeral that represented that number. Finally, identify <<二>>, the Chinese Character that also represented 2. This board also allowed my child to practice sequencing and also appreciate what is "before/after/in between" a number.
